Blog 3: A Week in the Life
This week has been a busy one. Birmingham and London for the day job, family birthdays up in Scotland, and working on Ingeneious in every spare minute. Oh, and in the middle of it all… I decided to get my first ever tattoo.
Because why not add one more thing into an already jam-packed week?
London Life
Between meetings in Birmingham and London, I stayed at Kew Bridge and made time to walk along the Thames. It gave me a chance to recharge in the middle of a hectic week — getting my steps in while also stuffing myself with pizza on the go (because balance, right?).
Family First
Back in Scotland it’s all about birthdays — my niece Erin turned 14 on Tuesday. We had a wee trip to the Scottish Event Campus together, and let’s just say the car park was… an experience.
Narrow gaps, high kerbs, cones everywhere. Honestly, it felt like an obstacle course. Erin would’ve won gold if it was an Olympic event 🏅😂.
It made me stop and think: accessibility isn’t just about ramps and lifts. It’s about the everyday details too — like making sure someone who’s partially sighted can walk safely through a car park. That’s exactly why Ingeneious Threads exists. To make the everyday easier.
Ink with Meaning
Wednesday I took the plunge and got my first tattoo. Not just any tattoo — my dad’s car registration and my brother’s date of birth.
I lost them both in 2023, and this feels like a way to carry them with me. My dad’s cancer journey is the reason Ingeneious exists in the first place, and having that reminder inked feels right. A little bit of permanence for two people who shaped so much of who I am.
Life at 40-something
So yes, life is hectic — juggling London meetings, family birthdays, a new business, and a first tattoo all in the same week. But that’s what it’s about, isn’t it?
A little chaos 🤪
A lot of love 💕
And a big drive to build something that matters 💪
That’s Ingeneious.
