The Over 40 Mum Juggle

Blog 4 – The Over 40 Mum Juggle 🙈
Well, the kids are back at school. New uniforms, new bags, new shoes… and a new dent in my bank balance. Honestly, how do they manage to grow a whole shoe size over the summer holidays?
My eldest is now in his final year at high school. FINAL. YEAR. How has that happened?! I swear he was just in primary school yesterday with his hair sticking up and his tie down to his knees. Now he’s School Captain and learning to drive. I’m bursting with pride, but also quietly panicking at the thought of being his passenger any time soon.
Then there’s my youngest — my daughter. 14 going on 40. She’s the sassiest, smartest, and most mature one in the house (and she’ll gladly tell you so). Honestly, she’s the boss, and the rest of us just live here.
Meanwhile, my body has been staging a protest. Broken hip, two broken ankles, medication changes, endless tests… let’s just say I’ve seen more hospital waiting rooms than coffee shops lately. And that’s saying something.
But life doesn’t slow down, does it? My partner’s turned 50 (huge milestone!), my son’s nearly 17, my daughter’s keeping us all in check, and in between school runs, hospital visits, and trying to keep the fridge stocked, I’m somehow squeezing in time for IGT.
Because here’s the thing — even in the madness, this start-up is what keeps me buzzing. Adaptive clothing and accessories that make life easier? Yes please. If anyone gets how important that is, it’s me.
So here’s to the over 40 club — tired but still standing, juggling it all with a smile (and maybe a bar of chocolate). Busy mum, busy life, busy start-up. Send coffee. ☕💖
